Biography

Khan was born on September 18th in 1951 in Dhaka. Col Faruk Khan holds a Masters in Defense Studies from Defense Services and Staff College in Mirpur. He served as a commissioned officer in the then Pakistan Army.

Political career

Khan is parliament member and the Minister of Commerce of Bangladesh Government. He was elected from the seat of Gopalgonj-01 with 99% votes the third time in a row at December 292008’s National Election. Col Faruk Khan pledged that the reduction of prices of basic foods and commodities are a priority in his term. He is a retired Colonel of Bangladesh Army.

Personal life

Muhammad Faruk Khan happily married to Nilufer Faruk Khan, a social worker. She is involved in various types of social works at rural level of Gopalgonj district. They have two daughters Qantara K Khan (Mumu) and Qareena K Khan (Jhumu).
