Biography
Mr. Nurul Islam Nahid presently serves as the Minister of Education of Bangladesh. He has degrees from Sylhet MC College and from Dhaka University. He was elected as President of the student union of Dhaka University in 1970. He has authored seven books. As Minister of Education he is leading the effort to reform curricula offerings that, in addition to skills development, includes a broader and values‐based education deemed as more relevant to the needs of Bangladesh. He is leading the process to both increase access to and enhance the quality of instruction at secondary and post‐secondary higher education. His younger daughter Ms Najia Samantha Islam is a student of NSU pursuing her MBA degree.
